Melissa A. Bennis is a Principal at Davis & Hosfield Consulting LLC. Her focus is on providing damages related expert testimony and consulting services to corporate clients and their counsel primarily related to disputes involving intellectual property claims.
Ms. Bennis has testified at trial and deposition as to her opinions in jurisdictions nationwide. She conducts complex financial analyses and develops multi-layer damages models and strategies in a diverse range of industries. Ms. Bennis prepares reports reflecting professional opinions and assists trial lawyers in developing case and damages strategies. Engagements have included claims such as patent, trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, dealer termination, defamation, fraud, wrongful termination and tortious interference.
Ms. Bennis graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting. She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University with majors in Accounting, Management & Strategy, and Marketing. Ms. Bennis is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant. She was named Illinois CPA Society and AICPA 2013 Woman to Watch. Ms. Bennis is a member of the Licensing Executive Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and an associate member of the American Bar Association.
