Joseph E. Seder is a Director at Davis & Hosfield Consulting LLC. Mr. Seder specializes in the investigation and resolution of complex business disputes, providing expert witness and consulting services to clients primarily in the insurance, construction, and government contracts industries.

In the insurance industry, Mr. Seder has authored a declaration summarizing his review and analysis of the fraudulent misreporting of over $2 billion in workers compensation insurance premiums.  Mr. Seder’s work required the review and analysis of large, complex financial models and data sets.  Mr. Seder has also analyzed alleged lost profits due to increased workers compensation premiums.

In the construction and government contracts industries, Mr. Seder has performed financial, productivity, lost profits, and Critical Path Schedule (CPM) schedule analyses on behalf of both owners and contractors. He has investigated cost and schedule impacts due to scope changes, design changes and errors, acceleration, delay, disruption, and differing site conditions. Mr. Seder has worked on a variety of projects including power plants, oil pipelines, hospitals, high-speed rails, military aircraft and vessels, hotels, high-rise condominiums, bridges, parking garages, and public parks. Additionally, Mr. Seder has worked as an owner’s representative.  Mr. Seder has worked on behalf of owners, contractors, subcontractors, and engineers.

In addition to authoring a declaration, Mr. Seder has aided in the preparation of reports reflecting professional opinions in these respective areas, assisted counsel with the discovery process, developing strategy, preparing interrogatories and document requests, and witness depositions. He has assisted clients and counsel in dispute resolution forums from settlement negotiations to trial.

Mr. Seder has a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University.  Additionally, Mr. Seder is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Cost Engineer.
