Joseph J. Egan
Joseph Egan is a Principal at Davis & Hosfield Consulting LLC. Mr. Egan has over 25 years experience and has been retained as an economic damages expert around the country and on several international matters. His practice is focused on providing consulting and expert witness assistance related to economic damages. His areas of expertise include patent infringement and other intellectual property, lost profits, various commercial disputes, construction matters, insurance disputes, and environmental matters. He has testified as an expert on economic damage issues in deposition and trial in both state and federal courts, and at arbitration. In patent infringement matters he has calculated or rebutted lost profits, reasonable royalties, and price erosion damages. He has been a speaker on various economic damages issues at various ABA conferences and seminars and other legal seminars.
Mr. Egan’s experience includes patent infringement matters; post acquisition disputes; breach of contract; lost profits analysis; environmental disputes involving cost allocation, cost accounting and EPA oversight cost disputes; numerous construction cost and schedule analyses; insurance recovery; and fraud investigations. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and a Masters in Business Administration with a Specialization in Finance from the University of Chicago. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.
Mr. Egan is a frequent speaker on various economic damages issues and has taught a number of Continuing Legal Education classes to practicing attorneys around the country. He has authored a number of articles in the past 15 years on a variety of topics.
